Jacob Gardiner-Smith signs a 1 year professional contract for Gareth Ainsworth

We are extremely proud of Jacob signing his first English Professional contract today, after spending pre-season at the club.

We have trained Jacob for a few years, but when he was released from Zenit St. Petersburg, he trained with us every day in order to give him the best shot here in the UK.  And how that has paid off!

Jacob has worked extremely hard over the past year, training with our Academy boys everyday, as well as being our 2nd team coach.

“I want to say a massive thank you to Ben Herd and all the lads at BHPP Academy for training me this whole year.  I can honestly say, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them”

He also offered some words of advice to our other Academy players "It is there for all of you to go and be next! I haven't done anything different to any of you this year.  Trained with Herdy, and played Non-League! You've got the best coach and you're in the best hands possible! Just give absolutely everything you've got!"

We'd like to wish Jacob all the best at Wycombe!
