Former BHPP coach and player LUKE O’NIEN signed a 2 year deal with Sunderland AFC last summer, after 3 seasons at Wycombe Wanderers FC. Luke has been an integral part of BHPP Academy since its inception in 2015, always offering support and guidance not just about football but in life experiences as well, invaluable to our young players. Luke has really embraced our training methods and has seen the results of it in his progress over the years.

Luke first started training with BHPP when he was on loan at Wealdstone FC. Luke has shown our players first hand what is possible with an unquenchable thirst for training and improving, as a player and person. His positive outlook and energy knows no bounds even recognising the benefits of our training that he was willing to get up and train with us at 6.30am before he went to Wycombe Wanderers to train. All of Luke’s hard work and sacrifice paid off in the summer of 2018 as, ex-Premier League club, Sunderland AFC, came in to buy Luke from Wycombe.

We are extremely proud of Luke in joining a massive club like Sunderland, and he has started the season well, with a regular first team appearances on their quest to get back to the Premier League.

Luke is forever a part of BHPP Academy and regularly passes on advice to our players. We look forward to seeing Luke progress at Sunderland.
