The 2024/25 FA Youth Cup campaign will be remembered as History-Making for the football club, as the young Blues embarked on an extraordinary run, overcoming elite opposition before a thrilling showdown with Premier League giants Arsenal U18s.

The journey began with dominant performances against Cheshunt, Boreham Wood, AFC Sudbury, and Colney Heath, setting the tone for a truly special campaign. In the First Round Proper, Hertford produced a superb comeback against Cambridge United, with Albert McGregor netting a dramatic late winner to send the club into the Second Round for the first time in the clubs history.

Momentum continued to build as the squad delivered an unforgettable performance against Bristol Rovers, edging a thrilling 4-3 victory after extra time. Nathan Devshi’s dramatic 121st-minute winner secured Hertford’s progression and set up a dream tie against Arsenal U18s.

Under the lights at Hertingfordbury Park, in front of nearly 2,000 supporters, Hertford Town U18s pushed the Premier League Academy side to the limit. Goals from Archie O’Brien, Finley Lynch, and Nathan Devshi saw the Blues go toe-to-toe with their illustrious opponents, but despite a valiant effort, they fell to a narrow 4-3 defeat.

While the cup run eventually came to an end, the performances, resilience, and sheer determination of Hertford Town’s youngsters embodied what the Academy stands for.
